This book is reminiscent of Daphne DuMaurier's Jamaica Inn. The story is lively, and so are the characters, but the suspense is thin, and the ending is predictable. It is a good choice for readers who are looking for a gentler Gothic romance, or for people who want to read mystery/suspense/romance books set in Cornwall.

Just couldn't catch my interest enough to buy more after reading sample. Maybe too formulaic.
