Our oldest has been bringing home various You Choose books from her elementary school library. And now at our local library we've discovered some of the books from the original Choose Your Own Adventure series that I read when I was a child. I remember loving books like this in my childhood and I am excited that our girls are discovering them as well. This book focuses on a journey to an ancient kiva that allows a person to travel through time and space. Many of the paths took us on a sci-fi journey that we could hardly imagine, but the stories were dramatic and exciting. Overall, these are entertaining, though sometimes graphically violent stories. I tend to prefer the "You Choose" series because they have an educational and historical context, but the books in this series are interesting, too. We enjoyed reading this book together.

Cute book for kids 14 & under. You get to make choices and see a variety of outcomes based on your decisions.

I have gotten it into my head that I want to do interactive book editions of Choose Your Own Adventure. I picked up two to see what I thought of them. This one was quite fun. Traveling through time, I could go to three different places. Each of them had several choices, one of which allowed me to "return", one to live forever where I went, and an unpleasant death. I tried to survive and occasionally made some bad decisions.Overall, the thread of the plot of this book worked well for me and I had fun with it.
