This children's book tells the story of a fairy Emang and the three mischief: Pat Kalat who throws litters around; Pol Putol who destroys all plants and cuts all trees; and Pax Waldas who is a spendthrift. The town folks hate these three. One day, they find themselves in the garden of Emang and so they destroy it and so they get the ire of the fairy. This is the first published children's book by Rene O. Villanueva, my favorite author of children's book. This was published in 1997 by Nutrition Center of the Philippines and he was assisted by National Artist for Literature Virgilio S. Almario and Perfecto Martin. The people behind the Nutrition Center of the Philippines later became the same group who put up the now flourishing publishing company, Adarna group.Nice colorful illustrations. The use of children as its characters give the children an easier time to relate to the wasteful and destructive attitudes of the mischief and the lesson in the end would probably have an great impact to them.
